The maiden attempt

The receding water,
The deserted sand.
They walk for miles,
They together stand.

But o fate!
You never respect.
The wishes of souls,
The dreams you suspect.

Togetherness choke them,
So they set themselves free.
One stays at the shore,
The other goes with the sea.

They kiss no good bye,
They do'nt even look in the eye.
One anyway gives no damn,
The other is a catcher in the rye.

One happily lives,
The other sorely exists.
The moon dies,
The dream persists.

The sand still waits,
For the water may come back.
But the water has moved,
Another sand is wooed.

The story repeats,
One seldom cheats.
Its the fate that decides,
Who should meet!!
